
Crispy Fried Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1 kg fresh shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails on)
- 200 g Five Star Fish Brand Crispy Flour (for wet batter)
- Extra crispy flour for dry coating (light dusting)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½–1 tsp sugar (optional)
- ½–1 tsp groun pepper
- 250–300 ml cold soda water or cold water
- Breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crunch)
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
1. Peel and devein shrimp, leaving the tails intact. Score the underside and gently press to keep the shrimp straight when fried.
2. In a mixing bowl,combine Five Star Fish Brand Crispy Flour, salt, sugar, and pepper. Gradually add cold soda water (or water) while mixing until smooth and slightly thick—not runny.
3. Lightly dredge shrimp in dry crispy flour to help the wet batter stick.
4. Dip each shrimp into the wet batter.
5. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy.Remove and drain on paper towels or a rack.
