Crispy Fried Chicken


Ingredients

  • 1,000 grams chicken drumsticks or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Korean chili powder (or paprika as a substitute)
  • 300 grams Five Star Fish Brand Crispy Flour
  • Water (for mixing the wet batter)
  • Palm oil (or any cooking oil) for frying

Instructions

1. Mix together sugar, salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and Korean chili powder.Coat the chicken thoroughly with this seasoning mixture. Refrigerate and marinate for 2–3 hours.

2. Divide the crispy flour into two portions: Portion 1: Mix with water to make a slightly thick wet batter. Portion 2: Keep dry for coating.

3. Lightly coat the marinated chicken pieces with the dry flour (Portion 2). Dip them into the wet batter (Portion 1). Then coat again with the dry flour to create a crispy crust. Shake off excess flour in one direction.

4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 150–160°C (300–320°F).Fry the chicken until golden brown and crispy, about 12–15 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces.

5. Remove the fried chicken and drain on a wire rack or paper towels.Serve hot and enjoy.
